Joey, 7 months.
A lot has happened for Joey this month, he got two teeth, can sit up all by himself, and he has started eating solids. He also got kicked out of our room because we were all waking each other up at night too much for anybody’s taste. He now sleeps in what was Trixie room and Trixie’s crib. It’s the earliest we’ve kicked a baby out of our room and it is so nice not needing to tiptoe around at night or worry about blowing my nose too loudly. Oh, getting more than two hours of sleep at a time is pretty nice too.
Trixie, 3 years and 4 months.
I heard on the radio today that this is the snowiest February on record for the Twin Cities, (30 inches so far!) So naturally Trixie wants to wear her swimming suit, or “diving costume” as she calls it, as much as possible. In this picture she has her swimming suit on underneath her snow gear.
Since Joey has taken over Trixie’s old room, Trixie has moved in with Johnny. We got bunk beds for the big kids and even though it’s been two weeks Trixie still asks me every night if she gets to sleep in her new bed. She made the transition from sleeping in a crib to a big girl bed beautifully.
Johnny, 5 years and 9 months.
Johnny is now the proud occupier of a Top Bunk. His favorite thing to do from his lofty sleeping place is to stick his head out to look down and see if Trixie is sticking her head out to look up at him, and then yell at her to put her head in and go to sleep when she does.
Johnny is really into sledding, which is great since we’ve gotten so much snow, but tricky since our yard is completely flat and having a 7 month old makes going to a sledding hill pretty near impossible. So we shoveled all the snow in our back yard into a big snow pile and Johnny goes sledding down it every day.
